Looking back at TAF2019 ‘Murder She Wrote’…
The inaugural TARWF - TAF2019, Murder She Wrote - was held in the Huon Valley from Thursday 31 Oct to Sun 3 Nov 2019. With more than 2,500 attendees across the festival, the response was far beyond our expectations.
Photos of many events have been added to Facebook albums. Click on an event name to see any associated album.
Our Murder She Wrote panel sessions filled 750+ seats, with attendees from every state in Australia and a small international contingent. More than 250 people attended our professional development program for writers, including Pitch to a Publisher, masterclasses and workshops.
400 plus people attended the TAF2019 Hall of Writers Bookfair presented by 26TEN. In a region of just 50% functional literacy, the Hall was a key component of our Inspire the Love of Reading program.
Our evening parties were immensely popular, with a full house of 150 guests at Noir at the Bar and 150 suspects at Curse of the Sphinx, our murder mystery party.
As part of our Children’s Program, over 450 people attended our free Kids Halloween Party and more than 300 children participated in our class program and short story writing competition. There were some brilliant entries to our art competition, along the theme of female bushrangers.
And, of course, it all kicked off earlier in the year with more than 350 attendees in a string of immersive fundraising events. All in all, quite an achievement for the first run of a festival held in a town of just 900 people!
TAF2020 Replay - ‘Murder She Wrote’ Podcast

This was designed around podcasts of the TAF2019 opening and 12 Murder She Wrote panel sessions, made available by TARWF’s official podcast partner Living Arts Canberra.
